Okay so I finally tried the Custom Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Printed & Dyed T-Shirts because my Haikyuu con rotation is all Karasuno orange and Nekoma red, and I wanted something JJK for the walk-in days when I’m not wigged up. I got the Gojo Satoru left-chest blindfold print in washed black, ¥4,180 before proxy fees. The blank is a 260gsm combed cotton with a thick black-base silkscreen on the back, Megumi’s Divine Dogs, small, above the hem, and the chest print sits high enough that my tote strap doesn’t chew it. Not polyester sublimation. Thank god. That shiny heat-transfer stuff and I are done, I still have a con photo where a previous shirt’s graphic reflected the venue lights and turned into a white rectangle across my chest, looks like a censored bar. Great.

The shirt itself is heavier than I expected in a good way. I wore it under a blazer for a local con last month, all day, 9am to 7pm, and the armpits didn’t do the white-T sweat map thing. I know that’s my bias. I still think white tees at summer cons are a trap, especially when you’re carrying a wig stand and a prop sword and a bag of safety pins. But okay. The black cotton here is dyed deep, not that charcoal-ish “black” that goes gray after one sink wash. The collar has a double-stitched band, and the shoulder seams didn’t twist when I pulled it over a wig cap. Tiny things. But after hauling 3kg of merch through Comic Market day two, the shirt didn’t sandpaper my neck.

The one fail: the back print was fine, but the inside care label was this stiff little rectangle right under my left shoulder blade. On day two of a campus event I was changing in a classroom, ripped the tee off, and the label edge scraped a red line across my shoulder. Not the print’s fault, but still. My fix was dumb and worked: cut the label out with nail scissors, then sewed a small strip of soft cotton ribbon over the remaining tag stub. Used a needle from my safety-pin pouch and black thread. Took maybe six minutes. The print didn’t flake because I didn’t iron it, don’t iron screen print directly, use parchment or a thin towel. I also washed it inside out, cold, hang dry. No dryer. I’m not trying to pay for another one.

Here’s my anti-mainstream take: everyone keeps pushing “soft-hand” prints as the premium choice, but for con wear I want a print with some body. Thick black-base silkscreen, water-based or plastisol? I don’t need it to feel like a whisper. I need it to survive being stuffed in a tote next to a wig comb and a bottle of setting spray. Soft-hand DTG can look pretty in flat lays and then fade into a ghost after three washes. I’d rather have a slightly heavier chest panel and a graphic that’s still there when I’m eating a 7-Eleven onigiri in the venue hallway.

Another specific: I got the Nobara Kugisaki hammer-and-nail sleeve print on a different blank, same listing, ¥4,620 with shipping. Wait, no, I think I got that mixed up for a second, the base Gojo chest/back version was the ¥4,180, the sleeve one was extra, that’s what I meant. The sleeve print wraps around the right forearm area but stops before the elbow crease, which is smart because that crease stretches when you’re holding a camera. Price-wise, not cheap. But my last “cheap” anime tee cost me a full con day of tugging at a collar that sat weird under my lanyard, so I’m done pretending the bottom price is the real price. Also sizing: the L fits me like a normal L but the sleeves are a bit shorter than Uniqlo. Try the chart. Or don’t, and complain in the group chat. We all do it.

Anyway.

Minor tangent: if you’re dyeing wigs in a hotel sink, line the basin with a black trash bag first. Learn from my Aoba Johsai green towel tragedy. Not related. Still important. Oh right, completely off topic but con bathrooms running out of toilet paper by noon is the dumbest thing, and phone batteries dying right when you need the map makes no sense, I don’t even know why that’s still a thing. But yeah, back to the shirts.

The JJK shirt isn’t magic. The print isn’t invincible, mine has one tiny halftone dot missing near the dog’s paw after four washes, which honestly feels like a fair trade for not looking like a reflective billboard in flash photos. If you’re doing Comic Market day two and need a shirt that won’t turn into a sweat sponge or a glare trap, this is the lane I’m in now. Thick blank, black-base print, cold wash, no dryer, label cut out, ribbon patch, done.

I’m keeping it in the con rotation next to my Karasuno orange tee, and I’m side-eyeing every white 100% polyester “anime aesthetic” drop on my feed until further notice. The soft cotton ribbon is still sewn over the tag stub with black thread from my safety-pin pouch, and the shirt is hanging inside out because I washed it cold and hang dried it, that’s where I’m at.
